Introduced mobile, data science, and ML practices; team 4× to ~90; revenue 2×; closed an $80M Series C. Migrated from an end-of-life third-party Postgres service to a horizontally scalable, AWS-native implementation fed by ML pipelines on Delta Lake / Databricks. Expanded the firmographic, demographic, and relationship graph by billions of items; improved its quality, breadth, and depth.
Carved out Western Union's mortgage payment business and reimplemented it within EarnUp; scaled systems and team to support single-quarter growth of 100× customers and transaction processing from thousands to billions of dollars. Built ledgering and KYC/AML compliance, and optimized risk and yield through dynamic account creation, maintenance, and fund movement across a network of sponsor banks via API, ACH, and real-time bill-pay gateways. $25M Series B.
Recruited NLP and ML teams, started the data team; incubated an AI healthcare platform (ML on EHR over FHIR) and iOS app; opened the West Coast office.
1B users, $1.7B revenue. Ran the core consumer platforms and experiences: frameworks, infrastructure, content sites, search bar. Replatformed Yahoo's flagship websites (new OS, new code) and rebuilt its #1 mobile apps.
Worked with the CEO, alongside product and design partners, to redesign and relaunch the world's #1 website. Led the company-wide engineering effort to build, test, and ship; presented status regularly at company all-hands. Prototyped, architected, and led development of the first browser-based WYSIWYG website builder; 1M+ subscribers, $100M revenue. Received the company's top internal 'Superstar' award.
Built the award-winning admin and end-user systems for the self-clustering, neural-net-powered email and edge network security appliance.
Owned the mail backend and infrastructure behind the world's first mobile email device. Built webmail, mobile apps (WAP, Palm, embedded), account, billing, and customer care from the ground up, PM and UX included. Worked with hardware engineering through device manufacture.
